A creative response to a contradiction filled brief - add space without significantly increasing the building’s footprint; provide light & volume on a constrained site with limited views; create a sense of refinement & sanctuary whilst negotiating budget constraints to deliver a hardwearing home for the rental market. By stripping away the typical accretions of an inner-city semi, the new design achieves this & connects out to a simple but generous courtyard area.
